During the planning stage of our employment process, PPRC helps clients with disabilities establish a career goal. If our client is unsure of the type of position or employer that they are looking to work for, PPRC can assist in activities that allow our client to test out their abilities and interests. A great first step is job shadowing.
Job shadowing allows individuals to find out what it is like to work in a specific profession by spending some time observing a professional on the job. Job shadowing opportunities are essentially extended informational interviews, where the prospective employee gets an overview of the work environment and the prospective employer gets to know the prospective employee by interacting and discussing their organization. The job shadowing experience will provide an excellent foundation for the remainder of the employment placement process.
PPRC can provide job shadowing opportunities as well as coaching in preparation for the experience to ensure the best possible outcome.
